I know nominations are closed, but Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City has developed a Facebook fan page that has continued to build a solid fan base with great interactions since it was established in late December 2009 (I am the administrator of this Facebook fan page). The videos, which are linked from YouTube to Facebook provide information on RSV, volunteers at the hospital, water dangers, and other short and more elaborate videos. Weekly nutrition tips and articles on child health and safety are commonly posted, but we throw in the occasional contest! While some of the fans are employees, many of the fans are just people from the community who have shared their stories of the hospital's mission, "The Child First and Always."

Outstanding professionalism and personal attention. Never rushed my visits. Ability to post records on internet private page so i can access what I need at any time... amazing.

Thanks again for all of the nominations. We have reviewed over 300 Facebook fan pages and are currently narrowing down the list of winners. After breaking down our list of great pages we have decided to present the information in a slightly different manner than originally intended.

The winners will be categorized as follows:

1) Individual hospitals
2) Specialty hospitals
3) Children's hospitals
4) Health systems

The Sher Institutes Fan Page is awesome. 500 plus fans and the page was only created in December 2009. Great dialogue and news you can use plus dozens of cute baby photos. Very inspirational!

I'm nominating the Barnes-Jewish Hospital fan site, managed by my colleague Kristin Hall. Since she started in October, we have almost tripled our number of fans, and we add fans almost every day. She has taught us how to engage and listen fans and that our fans include a range of people, including patients, former patients, their families, employees, doctors, medical and nursing students, as well as the general public. We now post regularly and offer everything from podcasts with clinical information, to employee videos and patient stories.
