As a follow up to our 5 Best Facebook Medical Practice Fan Pages, we would like to recognize the best examples of hospital and healthcare system Facebook pages. If you know of any great examples, please nominate them (including a link) in the comments section below.
The winners will be divided up into three groups – small hospitals, large hospitals and healthcare systems.
Criteria for determining the winners:
- Overall appearance of the page
- Total number of fans
- Content provided by the page administrators
- Effective use of images and video
- Dialogue on the fan page wall
- Innovative concepts
All eligible nominations will be considered and the winners will be announced on Monday, February 22nd.
UPDATE (2/22/10): Thanks to everyone who responded to the nomination request. After reviewing over 300 Facebook pages, we have decided to present the winners in a slightly different manner than originally intended. The sites will be broken down into the following 4 categories:
- Individual hospitals
- Specialty hospitals
- Children’s hospitals
- Health systems
We are currently finalizing the lists and will be publishing the winners by category on each of the next 4 days.

Vanderbilt’s Children’s Hospital provides the best care for children in Middle Tennessee period. My 3 day old daughter was transferred there from the main hospital for a week stay. Their staff and personnel treated us like we were the only patient in the building. They treat every child and family with the same respect and nurturing care.
