Status updates to be indexed by Bing in real-time results
There have been rumors circulating for weeks regarding a deal between Twitter and Bing. Now AllThingsDigital is reporting that Microsoft Bing will announce separate deals with both Facebook and Twitter. Bing will now provide search results on status updates from both social media giants.

What will it mean to you? When it comes to Facebook, most personal profiles are private which means your status updates likely won’t be indexed. Facebook is expected to add new tools which will allow users to determine if individual updates can be public. In the meantime, you could choose to change your personal profile to public (not recommended) or start a Fan Page which is public.
Twitter, on the other hand, is public. Therefore your real-time tweets could potentially be visible on Bing. This raises some interesting possibilities with respect to marketing.
While this new development may hit Google in the teeth, they are rumored to be in discussions with Facebook and Twitter as well. So stay tuned. This could get pretty interesting.
